Greetings Everyone!

Nancy Hakala in front of The Painted Rock Wall

Wish you the happiest of Christmas tidings! And of course Peace for the New Year.

2013 has been the busiest of years for my art endeavors:

• The year began with the refurbishing of the Dawson Oil Tank mural in Auburn, California. This was exciting as most of the project was painted from a 30 foot high scissor lift, in all kinds of weather, which I had never done before.

• Next, I painted the “Historic Downtown Oak Harbor Mural, l”a 53 foot wide by 17 foot high mural in the town of Oak Harbor, Washington. This image required extensive research before beginning the project and depicts an open book displaying 7 large paintings of Oak Harbor’s History. The project took 7 weeks to complete and I worked from two different lifts; a scissor lift and a 45 foot Condor.

Now I am back in my studio at the Arts Building in Auburn, California, working on a number of new paintings.
